"Save some water for yourself"

This painting is about the balance between giving to others and remembering to nurture ourselves.

In one cracked hand a desert marigold grows, and in the other a tiny sprout of a new marigold starts to grow. A desert marigold is a flower that continues to grow in harsh conditions with the need for very little water.
The metal figure on the frame pours water into a crack in the frame to replenish the hands and flowers .

This interaction is a reminder that even when we appear strong, we all carry our own unseen struggles and need moments of understanding, nourishment, and time to replenish.

Replenishment looks different for everyone and sometimes you need different ways to reset. For some, it is creating art, working out, sports, reading ,finding moments of solitude, or needing moments to connect with others.

What matters is recognizing what nourishes us and making the time for ourselves to replenish and keep moving forward.
